My new favourite candles are the The Wallpaper Collection by Parable: each of which is cast from moulds of preserved 19th and 20th century wallpaper printing rollers. There are eleven designs currently in the collection, available in a choice of size, scent, wax colour and hand-painted finish. Shown here is Tintagel in Silver on Clotted Cream with the Clarity scent.
The relief detail is stunning, created by casting the wax into the mould and topping it up by hand over a 24-hour period. The pattern is then enhanced with a painted finish, and each is made in Parable’s Devon workshop. Prices start at £120 for a small candle – but as you can see here, this is a substantial size. Thank you Parable!
