Selling the sky

This month’s Icon magazine profiles the latest work of Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo, of Seattle-based Lead Pencil Studio. Called Non-Sign II, the piece of art is the continuation of an intriguing theme: removing pieces of advertising and using the remaining billboard framework to advertise the sky itself. Mihalyo says of the concept, “the idea was to take the effectiveness of the billboard and turn it against itself.”
